The aim of double or multi-grade classes is to encourage collaboration and diversity of profiles. Teachers are trained in differentiated instruction, and classes are limited to 25 pupils to ensure individual attention.

Understanding the IBSA system

IBSA stands out for its bilingual and multicultural immersion, differentiated approach and active pedagogy, in contrast to traditional schools that teach mainly in French, with a more uniform and common pedagogy. IBSA encourages autonomy and the development of transversal skills in an inclusive environment, while using modern technologies and offering personalised support. In contrast, traditional schools focus on academic subjects, with a more traditional use of teaching resources and a more rigid academic structure.

Understanding the IBSA system

IBSA combines several educational systems, including the French, British and Common Core systems, while incorporating modern technologies and innovative pedagogy. The programme emphasises autonomy, differentiated instruction and the development of cross-curricular skills, while respecting international standards

Understanding the IBSA system

In the IBSA system, the teacher plays the role of learning facilitator, guiding students towards autonomy and exploration, adapting teaching to individual needs. This approach contrasts with the traditional role of the teacher in the mainstream system, where the emphasis is on imparting knowledge in a standardised way. At IBSA, the teacher encourages collaboration, the use of technology and the overall development of students, whereas the traditional system focuses more on academic results.

IBSA school trips are designed to provide practical educational experiences and broaden students' perspectives. These trips incorporate field research projects, allowing students to connect theory with practice.

To take part in international competitions, students must demonstrate a certain level of competence, a solid academic performance and sufficient autonomy. The selection process includes internal selection, rigorous preparation and financial support from parents. Students must also be fluent in the language of the competition, be available and meet the logistical requirements.

IBSA applies differentiation techniques to support students with learning difficulties, using a variety of teaching aids and adjusting the objectives and pace of lessons. Peer learning is encouraged to promote collaboration and mutual support. The school's SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) department sets up individualised programmes to meet the specific needs of these students.

Choosing the IBSA SYSTEM

Families with experience of expatriation or impatriation, as well as those who have changed schools frequently, often find that IBSA meets their needs well. For families seeking a reorientation, the school allows students to sit the national exams as free candidates, with good results.

Choosing the IBSA SYSTEM

At IBSA, excellence is defined by regular achievements in the students' areas of passion. The school observes, offers daily challenges, and gradually develops students' autonomy, all of which helps to sustain a path of excellence.

Choosing the IBSA SYSTEM

IBSA adopts an inclusive approach, welcoming all types of student profiles. Around 50% of students are not motivated by traditional schooling, while 20% have an excellent academic level and are looking for intellectual stimulation. In addition, 20% of pupils have learning difficulties and 10% have cognitive difficulties. IBSA's aim is to ensure the long-term academic success and stability of these students.

Choosing the IBSA SYSTEM

The progress of students experiencing difficulties at IBSA is monitored on an ongoing basis, in partnership with parents. The process requires patience and is based on an approach that aims to develop learners' independence over several years.

Choosing the IBSA SYSTEM

It can take several years for a student in difficulty to become a committed IBSA learner, unless there is an underlying medical problem.

Choosing the IBSA SYSTEM

The IBSA assesses students' progress globally, without directly comparing them with other students in the class.
