Our school prepares children to thrive in the world 15–20 years from now. Meaning, they no longer rely on the same ways of learning their parents or grandparents did.
Beyond helping students succeed in school and examinations, our goal is to equip them with the essential tools to excel in their professional lives, following a rewarding educational journey.
Through our active, project-based teaching methods starting in kindergarten, learners develop crucial skills in planning, organization, time management, and the timely completion of tasks.
At IBSA, knowledge is not taught in isolation; it is constructed and applied through meaningful learning projects, carefully adapted to students’ ages.
The cornerstone of teaching and learning at IBSA
Learning projects cover all areas of learning and enable students to acquire, consolidate and demonstrate essential knowledge within authentic and meaningful contexts.
Our teaching and learning approach places students at the heart of the learning experience. It enables them to make sense of knowledge and supports the development of academic, cross-curricular and bilingual skills.
Knowledge is readily available, so memorization alone is no longer enough. What matters is the ability to adapt to change, think creatively, and maintain an open mind, ensuring students are active participants in technological and societal developments.
The 21st century presents a complex, diverse, and interconnected world. It is therefore essential to expose our students to different cultures and perspectives.
We believe in experiential learning. Our active, bilingual pedagogy begins at the age of two in pre-school, fostering curiosity, exploration, and lifelong learning from the earliest years.
IBSA’s tailored approach is designed to operate on multiple levels. Whenever possible, we group students in multi-age, multi-level classes.
In every class, whether multi-age or not, each child is unique and learns in their own way.
Each child learns differently, so our teachers use a wide range of teaching strategies tailored to individual personalities.
It would be inaccurate to assume that all students progress at the same pace or in the same way. Our teachers embrace this diversity and adapt their approach accordingly.
Within our environment of positive education, multi-level classes foster cooperation and independence. Our teachers are well-trained and equipped to meet the diverse needs of the age groups present in each classroom.
Our students read a lot in French and English. Every day, for 30 minutes, the school falls silent as everyone picks up a book and reads.
Students, teachers, administrative staff, maintenance team, etc... We all experience the amazing power of reading. Reading facilitates the acquisition of language and allows the child to develop the ability to listen and concentrate.
IBSA Online has also been designed as a platform to link home and school without disrupting the school timetable.
It is a solution for social and academic interaction.
